This is an excerpt from Dr Vitagliano's School Review speech given to pupils, guests, staff and governors on Senior Speech Day, 18th September 2007: ....My annual report would be incomplete without mention of the untimely deaths of two former members of Chis and Sid. Two people, ironically, who were very close to each other and who had an immense influence on this school. In November 2006 Noel Horrobin, a leading member of staff since 1976 and synonymous with the school's great rugby tradition, lost his spirited fight with serious illness. Adam Hunt, a former pupil, left the school in the summer of 2006 having captained the school's rugby team in its most golden season - 2006/07. Memorably, one of the most eloquent and moving homages to Noel was the tribute given by Adam. He paid his tribute on this stage in March at the special celebration of Noel's contribution to Chis and Sid. Anybody who watched Adam when he spoke and listened carefully to his words will understand why he is rightly remember as a 'gentle hero'. Like his beloved mentor Noel Horrobin, Adam was modest, committed and an inspirer of deep affection, great respect and strong loyalty. The school community misses both of these unique individuals. Whilst we certainly felt diminished by their deaths we remain enriched by the way in which they each contributed to the life of this school. Dr J.
