At U16, Adam played for Kent and London & S.E. England. He also was a final triallist for England U16s, his small build stopping him from getting an England team place. But at Bideford training camp before his final year at Chis & Sid, he was proud to be asked by Mr Horrobin and Mr Ubee to be Captain of the 1st XV. For the 1st XV, with Adam as captain, Season 2005-2006 was a record breaking one, with 19 wins and only one lost game. They came 2nd in the National Schools League out of over 500 top rugby schools all round the country. They also won Bexley Borough's Top School Team. While so proud of the team's achievements, he never accepted praise for himself, always modest and joking about his lack of height.
