Eulogy to Adam – Wednesday, July 18, 2007 On behalf of the entire family I would like to thank you all for coming here today and celebrating with us the life of our incredible Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin and Uncle Adam. We also really appreciate those of you that have traveled to be here today as well as those of you that have broken your holidays to attend. A special note of thanks for Adam’s friends that cancelled their holiday to Zante because of today. Adam had a very full 19 years and as we all know, everyone that he met he touched with his heart, his charm, his abundant personality and of course his good looks and cheeky smile! To us all it seems truly hard that we will not have anymore ‘quality’ or as he would call it qual-it-e time, with him. That being said we must all have Adam in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives and make sure that when we can, we celebrate every happy occasion in our lives always with a thought of Adam. Adam is with us today and is probably cringing at me for me wearing this shirt and embarrassing him in front of his mates; telling his Dad (Alan) to go for it and to live it large; his Mum (Chris) to keep on looking great and being the best Mum ever; his step Dad Ian, don’t worry as Marcus now has his eyes on the BMW; his Brother Marcus and Sister Mels to have a drink for him; his Gran and Nan telling them sorry he never got round to the chores they had for him but don’t worry because Marcus is always available; his uncles and aunties to look out for him and his Niece Saffron to be a good girl at school and to make her Uncle proud! Adam always had a way of getting us to go along with him whatever it was for - that was simply Adam. Today as we celebrate his life we must all kindle the most beautiful guy or geezer that we all had the honor to know. We must not cry at the brevity of his life rather, feel pleasure, the privilege and the profound good luck to have had Adam in our lives and for us all to experience him. It is rare that one person really affects so many people with their personality – that was Adam. As I mentioned earlier Adam has left a part of himself embedded within us all and his presence will be forever with us. As those of you who have had a look on Facebook.com will confirm – he was a very popular guy and made his contribution to all of our lives truly memorable. That tribute will be a lasting legacy to us his family and to his friends I am sure. In addition and on behalf of his parents in particular, we all really appreciate the huge offers of help, support and thoughts during these past traumatic 19 days. Without that, the loss would have been too much to handle. Thank you so much for the various tributes and gestures, they have helped, and will help us, with our grieving process. Again, I would like to thank you for coming and for sharing this very hard but truly most important time with us his entire family. I will end my tribute by taking Adam’s first name using each letter of it and sharing with you what he meant to us, his family: A Adam was the most Amazing man or as Adam would say geezer that we could ever have wished for as a family member; D Adam was a true Delight to be around and we took huge grace in watching him in everything that he did and we all thank Adam for involving us in that. His laughter, his tears were all ours; A Adam was Adorable. Adam had an Ability to inspire others. Adam Achieved so much in his short 19 years. Adam was always so Amicable to everyone that he met and that knew him. Adam had a true Appreciation for family and friends. M Adam we will all Miss you to our dying days. Be at peace now and know that everyone of your family misses your every breath. We love you Adam, you always knew that. We always will love you and we know that you will always be with us and next to us. Rest in Peace you special man.
